I joined the prestigious British Equity Stunt Register in 1997 and have worked on some of the best known TV and film productions in the industry. Now coordinating, I can bring this experience to productions looking for design, preparation and performance of action sequences. This can be developed to your budget but safety will not be comprised. Services include:
If you think safety is expensive, try an accident.
Uniquely placed within the industry as one of only a few stunt professionals in the UK who hold a recognised HSE qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety), I am available as a Production Safety Advisor to ensure your production is compliant with the HSE. Working with producers, my role is to advise on the 'best safe practice' for your production, risk assess the productions plans and collaborate with all departments to provide, as reasonably practicable, a safe environment for the cast & crew to work in.
Derek founded the original Havoc stunt team in 1966 and was the go-to stunt coordinator and fight arranger in the UK TV industry until the mid 1970's. As one of Dereks former apprentices in dramatic combat and mentored by him during my early stunt career, I have dedicated this resurrection of Havoc to Derek.
One of the many things that Derek and other mentors taught me is that action should not be done for actions sake. Action drives the narrative of the story, it defines and illuminates character. To perform and create that action requires a unique skillset within the entertainment industry.
At Havoc we aim to create the illusion of danger and mitigate the risks.
Production Safety is a separate service under the Havoc banner. It provides filmmakers with the guidance and awareness of their legal, moral and financial obligations to their cast, crew & their obligations to each other. A Health & Safety Advisor is not there to tell producers what not to do, it is there to help and make sure the activities are safe and complaint with the HSE law and regulations.
